Welcome!

My name is Susan DeBow .

My goal is to make you feel encouraged and inspired. Hopefully, you will read something that helps you, makes you think, inspires you or at least makes you smile, in every post.

Design is more than just the way something looks. It is also about how it functions. How your home looks, functions and works for you and your family. How your life functions. Yes, you can design an outfit, a graphic, a building, a kitchen, and other segments of your life.

In the dictionary, the word ‘design’ is a noun (a plan or drawing, an arrangement) and a verb (to do or plan something with a specific purpose or intention in mind.)

Example Phrases:

Noun:

He unveiled his design for the new building.
A good design can help the reader understand.
That piece of pottery has a lovely white and gold design.

Verb:

I became a cook, by default, and not by design.
He had designs on the family fortune.
Set your designs on higher goals.

Our Life –

Since we have been married, we have built or remodeled 7 homes, not including homes we lived in, before marriage or places we rented. So, while we do not pretend to be experts, we do know there is joy and heartache in home ownership, renting, building, remodeling, decor and even landscape.

Again, we are not experts. We are not responsible for what a reader does after reading something on this blog, but we do hope to increase your understanding of the process and learn by our mistakes and accomplishments. They say if your marriage can make it through building a home, it is a good relationship. I guess we are doing something right to make it through so many projects.
