HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Happy Thanksgiving, from Designs of Home !

I hope, today finds you with friends and family and a full belly. However, not everyone celebrates the day in the same way, and not everyone is able to make it to the usual feast with friends and family, so, if today, finds you alone, or with a smaller gang than usual, I hope you will have a peaceful and restful day… and a full belly!

We can still celebrate and give thanks to God for all the many blessings in our lives, wouldn’t you agree?

Today, many of us do not cook a big meal, instead, we go out to a restaurant. Some are closed for the holiday, but many are open and serving a Thanksgiving feast that would rival our Great-Grandmother’s, and the best part – all fun. No cooking, no cleaning, just good times and easy conversation. 😉

I found these two great old vintage Thanksgiving greeting cards and they made me giggle.

I would imagine that both Turkey Couples are celebrating, that they made the ‘cut’ and can rest easy another year.

I would also imagine, that, they are up early and on their way to the Black Friday Sales !

They have a big brood or gaggle or whatever you call a family of Turkeys to buy gifts for, and the sales really help with the stocking stuffers.

The next vintage greeting card, depicts the artists rendering of the first Thanksgiving. We all get busy with the fuss of the Holidays, but the most important part is not the feast, or the people, but instead, it is the giving of thanks.

We call a group of turkeys a flock.

LOVE the turkey postcards! I have a a couple, but mine have white turkeys, since that’s what we raise.
